Brief 2006 Summary of Significant Weather Events
Jan - Record breaking start to the year with new years day being the hottest on record over many parts of E NSW.
Feb - The 2nd 'felt' like one of the hottest days on record due to elevated moisture levels combining with scorching
temperatures. Further inland moisture was less but temperatures were higher, reaching the mid-forties.
Mar - Pretty close to average though a little on the windy side overall.
Apr - Quite a dry month (humidity wise) & overnight mins were well below average.
May - Again quite dry with overnight temps remaining below average by some way.
Jun - Mostly average, recorded my lowest ever dew-point temp of -4.8°C on 15th at 0420n.
Jul - Mostly average with slightly above average rainfall & wind gusts.
Aug - Again mostly average with a brief overnight hail storm on the 25th at 0420.

         recorded on both the 10th & 11th at 1530 & 1028 respectively.
Oct - Observed my strongest wind gusts ever from a S'ly change, 68.0km/h on the 8th at 1450.
Nov - Several storms moved through on the 13th bringing small hail & gusty winds. Several large trees were up-rooted
in areas close by. Late season snowfalls were observed on the 16th through many elevated parts of NSW.
Dec - Some very cool days & below average temps. Had another brief overnight hail storm on the 14th at 0345 with small
          stones.
